I don't know about control of it, but Banshee did loose his powers when Mystique attacked him and slit his throat. He's since regained them.

No, GenX was a short lived tv show circa 1996 (I've never seen an episode before, I really wasn't aware it was a show I guess! Learn something new all the time)

Jeremy Ratchford plays Banshee in Generation X (1996). (Thank you to the contributing answerer - I was not aware Banshee had even been brought to the screen!)

I'm going to assume that is 'What are Banshee's weaknesses?' Hot Scottish women, shape shifters with knives, laryngitis.... but mostly making costumes out of green and yellow spandex.

He's one of the good guys. He's a smart man, a little brash sometimes, acts before thinking on occasion, but Xavier had enough faith in him to lead Gen-X

Its possible, I'm hoping he'll pop up eventually in one of the 5 million X-related books Marvel puts out.
