About Hellboy Hellboy is the main character in a series of comics, mini-series, and short stories written and drawn, for the most part, by Mike Mignola. You may have come to know Hellboy the same way I did, through the movie of the same name. I enjoyed that movie so much I decided to explore the comics as well. Hellboy came to this world via a Nazi ritual performed in the '40's. Things didn't go exactly as planned (do they ever?), and what came through from the other side was a cute little red guy with a big right hand (who seems to like pancakes....). Always the rebel, Hellboy decided he wanted to fight evil, instead of be evil.
