Welcome to Temptress, a Siryn Fansite & Fanlisting! This site is here for the fans of Theresa Rourke Cassidy to come together, show their support of this character, and maybe learn a little about Siryn in the process. A Fanlisting is nothing more or less than a site created to list the names and countries of the fans of a certain thing. A collection of sorts. If you are interested in learning more about Fanlistings in general, I suggest visiting the main site.
Who is Siryn?
A native of Ireland, and the daughter of the X-Man, Banshee, Siryn has had a turbulent life. Unknown to her father, Sean Cassidy (Banshee), the infant Theresa survived a bomb blast that killed her mother. She was secretly stolen away by her uncle, Black Tom Cassidy; Siryn eventually developed her mutant talents, which were then used & exploited by Tom. Her powers - the ability to create powerful sonic waves with her voice, and the power of flight - were strikingly similar to her father's.
After one crime spree, Tom was captured, and, while in custody, he exonerated Theresa of her crimes, and (perhaps in a rare moment of regret) wrote a letter to Banshee explaining who she was. The X-Men brought Siryn to their headquarters, where she reunited with her father. Today, Siryn serves the X-Corporation. Siryn first appeared in 1982, in Spider-Woman #37.

Several of everyone’s favorite merry mutants will be featured in the new X-title, X-Men Forever, written by Chris Claremont. X-Men Forever picks up right where Claremont’s 90’s run left off, with X-Men #3. Anything goes in this reboot too since it is a totally separate reality/time line from current Marvel events, so you never know who will make an appearance.

Maru. Mr. Tryp. X-Cell. The Isolationist. Madrox has gone against his fair share of unseemly and unfamiliar antagonists of late, but some villains never go out of style. Like Sentinels. Big, honking Sentinels. Oh yes, this is going to be fun!

Fans of Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate X-Men, however, will be disappointed to hear confirmation of the popular rumor/fact that both books are being canceled. “Following issue #60 of Ultimate Fantastic Four and issue #100 of Ultimate X-Men, I believe those books will go dark. After that we’re reformulating our plans in light of Ultimatum. As to what happens to UFF and UXM, we have some thoughts, but nothing I’d like to mention just yet.
A young Siryn makes an appearance in Wolverine: First Class #6, due out in August. (She’s the blonde girl.) Shoud be interesting! Here’s how Marvel describes the issue:
THE STORY:
TONIGHT! On a brand-new “When Teenage Mutant Girl Sleepovers Turn Deadly”: SIRYN and KITTY PRYDE get into a no-holds-barred throwdown of a catfight over COLOSSUS’s love, with WOLVERINE caught in the middle!
Comic Candy, the hugemoungous comic book image gallery and news site that I run (and also the site I upload all the images and other things found on this site to), has gotten into trouble this month for being a big pig.
It used too many resources for the hosting plan I was on and had to be moved to a semi-dedicated server (which has put me into a bit of sticker shock…). So, as much as I hate begging for money via the internet, I will in order to keep my various sites online. If you enjoy any of my sites, please consider a donation by paypal to them, no amount is too small, and every donation is greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance, and hopefully no one is too offended by my fundraising efforts.
Siryn has made an appearance in the new Cable/Deadpool series. Keep an eye out for her! She’ currently helping Deadpool and Canonball track down a wayward Cable. They’ve landed in an alternate time-line, and things could get scary!
