More About Siryn

Theresa Rourke-Cassidy is the daughter of former X-Men member Sean Cassidy (Banshee, father), and Maeve Rourke (mother). Banshee believed her to be dead after an attack on she and her mother when Terry was only an infant. However, the child survived and was kidnapped and was raised by her cousin, Thomas Cassidy (Black Tom).

Siryn eventually developed her mutant talents, which were then used & exploited by Tom. Her powers - the ability to create powerful sonic waves with her voice, and the power of flight - were strikingly similar to her father's. After one crime spree, Tom was captured, and, while in custody, he exonerated Theresa of her crimes, and (perhaps in a rare moment of regret) wrote a letter to Banshee explaining who she was. The X-Men brought Siryn to their headquarters, where she reunited with her father.

Siryn joined the Fallen Angels for a stint, during which time she had a fling with what turned out to be only a dup of Jamie Madrox (Multiple Man), who was later reabsorbed, leaving the true Jamie with only second-hand memories of the events. After that she lived at Moira MacTaggert's Mutant Research Center at Muir Island.

Siryn spent an extended period of time as a member of X-Force, which she also led for a while. She was invloved in an on-again off-again romance with James Proudstar (Warpath). during her time with X-Force she had her throat torn out by Feral, (which resulted in the loss of her power) she then left the team, and Deadpool helped heal her.

Siryn also served as a member of X-Corporation, where she was involved in an incident in the Euro Tunnel, which resulted in several fatalities. (see New X-Men #'s 128-130, 2002).

Siryn has recently popped up in Cable/Deadpool, where she assisted Deadpool in the tracking down of a wayward Cable through several alternate dimensions. Siryn was also romantically linked with Deadpool for a time, however nothing came of it in her recent appearance in the series.

Theresa is an alcoholic, but has not consumed alcohol for several years, however, it reminas a constant battle for her. Siryn's most recent group affiliation is the newly formed X-Factor team, located in old Mutant Town.

Powers: Siryn can create sonic effects with her vocal cords, including flight, sonic blasts, and sonar abilities. It has also been recently revealed that she can alter her speaking voice to control the emotions of others.
